Council #18677 of the Knights of Columbus Events and Activities
In early July several Knights did a pick up of a food donation at PV Studios. We then took the products to Jim O'Briens house, sort and prepare for distribution. This load went to Saint Vincent DePaul.
While at Saint Vincent DePaul that day, the staff mentioned the deficit in large sized diapers. Grand Knight Mike Aiken to put an email together to ask the knights to please consider donating to a diaper drive. Upon investigating diaper prices we found out that Costco had a sale ($10.00 off) on large boxes of their brand diapers.
Within about 10 days enough donations came in that we were able to buy and donate 40 cases of diapers, Sizes 4, 5 and 6. Tis fulfilled and immediate need for them. Thank you to all who donated!

Council #16877 Assists Operation Hope
I would like to take this time to recognize Saint Vincent De Paul Pantry and Thrift store, and how they contribute to our community. We donate food and other things to them and then they distribute food to hundreds of families and homeless in our community. They also provide snacks to the Operation Hope program at the Saint John’s County Detention center. Operation hope is a program assisting inmates who are being released with interviewing knowledge, helping them with housing, and job opportunities to hopefully reduce recidivism. This program has been very successful! On August 15th 2025 Cheryle Horan from St. Vincent De Paul invited us to go to the jail and attend a graduation of this program. We had the honor of watching 6 men in Cap and Gowns share their experiences of the program and what they futures look like due to this program. It was an awesome and emotional experience for us attendees!
On August 8th 2025 Cheryle took more of our members to the graduation and it was for women that time. What an amazing opportunity for Saint John’s County to offer to our unfortunate brethren!!

Food Drive Continues to Impress
In July, Worthy Knights Jim O'Brien, Dave La Plante and John Veino spearheaded the most recent food drive at St. Marks. The Drive netted 750 pounds of food for the Catholic Charities of St. Augustine. This food was earmarked for kids.

Diaper Drive
St. Augustine Cathedral Basilica Pilgrimage Is A Huge Success
The Knights of Columbus St. Mark's Council 18677 would like to thank our pastor Father Tom Willis for sharing an amazing array of information about St. Augustine Cathedral Basilica. A large group of our parishioners met with Father Tom to hear his amazing expertise in the history of St. Augustine, a tour of the Cathedral and Holy Mass to wrap up the pilgrimage. Father Tom's knowledge far surpasses that of any tour guide presentation that I have ever heard. Please take time to appreciate the pictures taken at the event (Link Below).
